My philosophy and therapeutic orientation are an integration of a variety of counseling theories: Solutions Focused, Humanistic-Existential, Cognitive-Behavioral, Psycho-dynamic, Narrative. These methods, as well as others are used as the basis for counseling to promote and encourage growth through increased self-awareness, enhanced relationships, expression of feelings, purposeful living, effective communication, conflict resolution and spiritual growth.
I see the purpose of therapy as the process of empowering people to grow and nurture various aspects of their lives. I use an approach that is caring and empathic. I am dedicated to helping clients discover their potential as human beings through the integration of mind, body & spirit. My therapeutic focus includes: relationships & intimacy, depression, anxiety, crisis intervention, post-traumatic stress, anger management, thought disorder, spirituality, chronic illness, terminal disease, bereavement, LGBT issues, HIV/AIDS, life & career transitions, communication, managing stress, time mastery, setting and maintaining priorities, etc.
I offer a sliding FEE SCALE which is AFFORDABLE and based on need, (income verification) and readiness for counseling. The range is: $65-$125 per 50 minute session, the average session is $85.00 per 50-minute session. My regular billable fee is $125.00. Fee is set during the first session for the first and following sessions.
If my fee is too expensive for you then let’s discuss this in the initial consultation session. Several options may be available, including: fewer sessions per month; shorter sessions; group sessions, a reduced fee (based on income), or referral to another practitioner. If a reduced fee is agreed upon, it will be adjusted upwards if your financial situation improves.
My approach to counseling is based on your needs and concerns using an eclectic integration of these counseling theories: Client Centered, Solutions Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Spiritual Counseling. These methods, along with others are used to encourage growth through increased self-awareness, enhanced relationships, expression of feelings, purposeful living, effective communication, conflict resolution and spiritual growth. Many people find their spiritual needs neglected when they come for counseling. My broad background helps me guide you with the spiritual dimensions of your life struggles. I have over 25 years of experience as a counselor and administrator with various non-profit organizations, agencies and hospitals.
I offer you an opportunity to face your difficulties constructively and confidently; freeing you to enjoy all the good things life has to offer. Don’t wait another minute. Give me a call to make an appointment or to ask some questions to see if I am the right therapist for you.
